School bus, police vehicle collide in St. Boniface

A child and a police officer sustained minor injuries Friday afternoon when a school bus and a police vehicle collided in Winnipeg's St. Boniface neighbourhood, Winnipeg police said Saturday.

A child and a police officer sustained minor injuries Friday afternoon when a school bus and a police vehicle collided in Winnipeg's St. Boniface neighbourhood, Winnipeg police said Saturday.

The Division Scolaire Franco Manitobain school bus was transporting approximately 15 elementary-aged children when the collision happened before 4 p.m. at the south side of the intersection of Provencher Boulevard and St. Jean Baptiste Street.

The injured child was treated and cleared at the scene by paramedics, according to the police news release on Saturday, and no one was taken to hospital.

The children were safely transferred to another bus, according to the release.

Police say an officer sustained minor injuries in the crash, but did not provide further detail on how the crash occurred.
