Milton Sussman named new CEO of Winnipeg Regional Health Authority
Sussman takes over from Arlene Wilgosh, who retired earlier this year
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority has appointed Milton Sussman as its new president and chief executive officer.
He succeeds Arlene Wilgosh, who retired earlier this year.
Sussman previously served as Manitoba's deputy minister of health and healthy living and as the WRHA's vice-president of long-term care and chief allied health officer.
Most recently, he was the provincial government's clerk of the executive council and cabinet secretary.
"Milton has a wealth of experience in senior administrative roles across health-care, government, and the not-for-profit sector. He has a keen understanding of our organization and of the health system both provincially and nationally," Dr. Jerry Gray, the WRHA's board chair, stated in a news release Wednesday.
"He also has a deep respect for patients, residents, and families, and I am confident he will provide the leadership necessary to move our health region forward and further strengthen the quality of the services we provide."
Lori Lamont, who served as interim president, will go back to being vice-president of interprofessional practice and chief nursing officer.
