2 people broke into home in Emerson Avenue off Henderson Highway early Friday, attacked resident
A Winnipeg man was taken to hospital early Friday after he suffered injuries during an invasion at a home in the city's River East neighbourhood, police say.
Officers were called to a home on the 100 block of Emerson Avenue, just east of Henderson Highway and close to the Perimeter, around 3:45 a.m. with a report of the invasion.
Two men, ages 19 and 20, were at the home when two other males broke in, police said in a news release Friday.
One of the residents was assaulted by the intruders, who also stole property from the home before fleeing down Henderson Highway.
The injured man was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Police say they're still investigating, but don't have a description of the attackers at this time.
They're asking anyone with information to contact them at 204-986-6219 or anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477 (TIPS).
