Crash shuts down Berry Street and part of Ness Avenue in Winnipeg

An early morning crash scattered debris across the road, knocked down a traffic light and shut down parts of two streets in Winnipeg's St. James area on Tuesday.

An early morning crash scattered debris across the road, knocked down a traffic light and shut down parts of two streets in Winnipeg's St. James area on Tuesday.

Police were called to the intersection of Ness Avenue and Berry Street around 4:45 a.m.

Two vehicles collided, sending one into the light standard. Police say one person was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The westbound lanes of Ness, as well as Berry Street in all directions, were closed around the area of intersection.

They have since reopened.
