2 sex offenders back behind bars in Winnipeg

Two high-risk sex offenders have been re-arrested by Winnipeg police for breaching their release conditions.

Two high-risk sex offenders have been arrested by Winnipeg police for breaching their release conditions.

Both Brett Russell Jeffrey Pilch, 49, and Winston George Thomas, 37, were arrested on Wednesday.

Both have lengthy records after numerous breaches of court conditions. Thomas has been released and re-arrested about a half-dozen times, while Pilch has a criminal history that spans 20 years and includes indecent and harassing phone calls, sexual assault and breach of probation.

Pilch breached a condition that required him to "not own, possess nor have any type of telephone subscribed under [his] name."

Thomas breached a condition prohibiting him from possessing or consuming alcohol, illegal drugs or any other intoxicating substance.
