St. Thomas Police identify third suspect in homicide, arson investigation from last summer
Suspect arrested in connection with the alleged shooting of Victoria Dill, 40, last July
Police in St. Thomas have made a third arrest in a homicide and arson investigation in the alleged shooting of 40-year-old Victoria Dill at a home in the city last summer, they announced Wednesday.
Jason Daniel, 50, is charged with manslaughter and arson with disregard for human life, leaving the tally of people arrested in the case at three.
Police did not initially name Daniel when they announced his arrest on Wednesday, but have since released his identity.
"STPS investigators have intentions of holding accountable every person responsible for this heinous crime," said police in a news release.
The investigation started when first responders found Dill, a St. Thomas woman, with a life-threatening gunshot wound on the same property as an active house fire on Hiawatha Street, police previously said. Dill later died in hospital.
The incident happened in the early morning hours of Jul. 3, 2024.
One month after Dill's death, police arrested Nathan Deleemans, 30, charged with second-degree murder and an arson-related charge, and 20-year-old Keegan Harvey for arson with disregard for human life and being an accessory after the fact to murder.

Items seized from Daniel following his arrest included over 45 grams of fentanyl and more than three grams of methamphetamine, with a combined street value of $3,600, police said, resulting in an additional drug trafficking charge.
Daniel is being held in police custody pending a court appearance.
