The province's police watchdog is investigating after a late-night crash in Arva, north of London, Ont., sent three people to hospital, two in life-threatening condition, on Saturday.
The Ontario Provincial Police say officers tried to stop a driver on Highway 4, near Croydon Drive, just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, and the driver's vehicle collided with another vehicle.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate due to police interaction with the initial vehicle. The SIU probes incidents in which someone is hurt or killed during an interaction with police.
Highway 4 was closed in both directions between Medway Road and Sunningdale Road in both directions, but it has since reopened.
