Kitchener man found dead in Oshawa, police treating as homicide

A Kitchener man has been found dead in Oshawa after he was reported missing in Harriston, Wellington OPP say.

Jason John Brown, 43, of Kitchener was reported missing to police on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Harriston, located in the Town of Minto, approximately 70 km north of Waterloo.

On Wednesday, Durham Regional Police contacted Wellington OPP to report that Brown's body had been found in Oshawa.

A post-mortem was completed on Friday and OPP say Brown's death is being treated as a homicide.

Police did not say how Brown died. They also did not say what the circumstances may have been that meant Brown would be reported missing in Harriston, but his body was found 200 km away in Oshawa.
