New Hamburg remains at flood warning zone 2, GRCA says
Flooding is expected in Ayr on Sunday, which has led the Township of North Dumfries to close Tannery Street.
On the social media site X, formerly Twitter, the township said staff would be going door-to-door to the apartments on Northumberland Street that back onto Tannery Street, asking people to move their vehicles.
Due to rising flood waters from the Nith River, the Township will be closing Tannery Street.

Township staff will be going door to door to the apartments on Northumberland Street that back onto Tannery Street, asking that they move their vehicles. @570CityNews pic.twitter.com/CNWaWMxwTj

The Grand River Conservation Authority issued a flood warning for Ayr for Sunday. The highest waters were expected in the morning.
The authority said water levels are up across the watershed after a significant amount of snow fell in the area on Tuesday, then warmer temperatures led to a lot of the snow melting and over the week, between 30 to 60 mm of rain has also fallen.
"The GRCA expects local water levels to continue to rise this weekend as watercourses react to runoff," the authority's flood message said. "While rainfall has ended, river flows throughout the Grand River watershed will remain elevated through the coming week as runoff from this rain and snow melt event drains through the river system."
In New Hamburg, a flood warning zone two is in effect. It recommends people living in areas that are prone to flooding be prepared for that to possibly happen.
The conservation authority's message remains in effect until noon on Monday.
The Environment Canada forecast was calling for a high of 1 C on Sunday with a mix of snow, drizzle and rain possible throughout the day.
