A cat left abandoned in a blue plastic tote bin in Guelph is now back on her feet and ready for adoption, says the Guelph Humane Society.

Tina, a black short-hair cat, was rescued after a passing driver found her in the bin at the intersection of Westwood Road and Imperial Road in April.

The organization said the cat was left inside the tote with the lid duct taped shut.

"She is such a sweet cat, and we are so happy that she is ready to find her loving home!" Samantha Westphal, feline care manager for the humane society said in a news release.

Tina was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, obesity, and asthma, the organization said, so anyone looking to adopt her will need to commit to keeping her on a special diet for the rest of her life and having her asthma monitored by a veterinarian.

Anyone looking to adopt her or for more information can call the Guelph Humane Society at 519-824-3091 or find the society online at guelphhumane.ca.
