The people behind Edmonton's new downtown arena say it's going to be the "best in the NHL."
Media were given a tour of the site Monday.
Construction on the $480 million arena began in March. The four other components of the project — the community rink, LRT connection, pedestrian pedway and Winter Garden — bring the total cost of the project to $606.5 million.
Dan Valliant of the Icon Group, a sports arena development organization, says the first months of construction are going well.
"We are on budget at the moment and as far as the site goes we're on schedule as well," he said. "We're determined to stay there."
