A home in Red Deer has been seized by the RCMP, as additional charges are expected to be laid in an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

The residence at 87 Towers Close, all of its contents, two vehicles and cash were seized as the proceeds of crime.

The seizure comes after an April 13 drug bust uncovered a large stash of illegal narcotics and street drugs.

Following tips from the public, a task force executed three search warrants simultaneously, one at the home on Towers Close, and two more at two units of a duplex on Garrison Circle in the city's north end.

During the searches, police say they recovered two shotguns, eight kilograms of marijuana, 1.3 kilograms of cocaine, 388 ecstasy pills and almost 1.4 kilograms of psilocybin (magic mushrooms), one litre of hash oil, 88 grams of hashish plus 44 hash tablets, and about 240 oxy pills.

Also seized were $37,800 in cash, large amounts of drug paraphernalia and 21 cell phones.

Two men were arrested from the duplex, and a woman was arrested from the Towers Close home. A third man was taken into custody in another location.

All three face charges related to trafficking, illegal use of firearms, and possession of stolen property.
