Suspect in northeast Edmonton homicide arrested

Edmonton police have arrested a suspect wanted for first-degree murder in connection with a man found dead in the city’s northeast Sunday evening.

Edmonton police have arrested a man wanted for first-degree murder after a man's body was found in the city's northeast Sunday evening.

An Alberta-wide warrant was issued for 36-year-old Clinton Wabasca, wanted in the death of a 42-year-old man who was found dead in a multi-unit residence near 117th Avenue and 91st Street on Sunday.

Wabasca was arrested just before 7 p.m. Thursday, police said in a news release.

Police are not looking for any additional suspects. They continue to investigate, they said.

An autopsy confirmed the victim died from head trauma. Police did not name the victim.

The case is Edmonton's fifth homicide of 2018.
