An Edmonton piano teacher, who was already facing sex charges involving a 10-year-old girl, is now facing charges involving another child, police say.

Last year, Cassius Alleyne, 60, was arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference, after a 10-year-old girl reported to police that he sexually assaulted her during music lessons. He was scheduled for a preliminary hearing on those charges in February.

In a news release Friday, the Edmonton Police Service announced new sexual assault and sexual interference charges against Alleyne.

The new charges come after a nine-year-old complainant reported sexual assault that took place between 2022 and 2023, the release said.

Police began investigating last month and laid the new charges Wednesday, the release said.

Investigators believe there may be more victims. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Alleyne was released from custody with conditions, including no contact or communication with anyone under the age of 16.

He also wasn't allowed to attend any public swimming area, school, day care, playground, youth shelter or public library.
