Edmonton Police Chief Mike Boyd headed back to work Monday, after being hospitalized in mid-June.
Boyd suffered what police would only call a "medical incident."
Police spokesman Dean Parthenis said Boyd was responsive and alert when he left police headquarters in an ambulance on the morning of June 17.
After a hospital stay, Boyd recuperated at home, Parthenis said.
Deputy Chief Daryl da Costa acted as chief in Boyd's absence.
