Canadian freestyle skier Mikaël Kingsbury captured a silver medal at a World Cup moguls event in Beidahu, China, on Friday.

Canadian freestyle skier Mikaël Kingsbury captured a silver medal at a World Cup moguls event in Beidahu, China, on Friday.

The Deux-Montagnes, Que., native scored 85.91 points and was second only to Japanese freestyle skier Ikuma Horishima (86.57).

Sweden's Filip Gravenfors (83.79) rounded out the podium in the bronze-medal position.

Kingsbury, who holds the all-time World Cup wins record with 96, now has six golds and three silvers across 11 events this season.

Mikaël Kingsbury of Deux-Montagnes, Que., skied to a moguls silver medal at the World Cup event at the Beidahu ski resort near Jilin City, China.

The 32-year-old remains first in the men's overall moguls World Cup standings with 575 points, leading Horishima by 137.

On the women's side, Americans took two of the three spots on the podium in Beidahu as Jaelin Kauf (82.19) won gold and Olivia Giaccio (78.43) took bronze.

French freestyle skier Perrine Laffont (79.23) won the silver medal.

Saskatoon's Maia Schwinghammer (72.80) was the lone Canadian competitor, finishing 12th.

The World Cup moguls circuit continues Saturday in Beidahu, China, with the dual moguls event.
