Veteran jumper Eric Lamaze and Fine Lady 5 anchored Canada to a sixth-place result Tuesday in team equestrian jumping with his second clear round at the Rio Olympics.

The top-eight outcome secured Canada a spot in Wednesday's final with a total of four faults, as the three best rounds count towards the team total.

The 2008 Beijing individual gold medallist was the only Canadian that managed to remain perfect through two days of competition in the equestrian jumping ring, as Amy Millar followed up Sunday's flawless Olympic debut with five faults.

The team's other first-time Olympian, Yann Candele, started things off Tuesday by going clear with First Choice 15, while Tiffany Foster pulled one rail to post four faults.

Canada will have it tough in the final day of team competition. There is currently a four-way tie of zero faults between the United States, Netherlands, Brazil and Germany. France sits in fifth with a single time fault.

After a disastrous day for Great Britain, the defending Olympic champions were eliminated from team action after finishing in 12th with 13 faults.

All four Canadian riders also advance to the next individual round.
