Bismack Biyombo opts out of contract with Raptors: report
Big man poised to cash in as free agent
Bismack Biyombo is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 after reportedly opting out of his contract with the Toronto Raptors.
As expected, the 23-year-old centre declined to exercise his player option for the 2016-2017 season in search of a bigger contract, according to a report from Basketball Insiders.
Bismack Biyombo's deadline to opt out was 7 days after Toronto Raptors' last game (5/27/16) as such, he officially opted out @BBallInsiders

Biyombo thrived during the Raptors' post-season run, averaging 25.3 minutes, 6.2 points and 9.4 rebounds over 20 games and taking on a bigger role in the absence of injured centre Jonas Valanciunas. Biyombo grabbed a franchise-record 26 rebounds in Game 3 against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference final.
In the regular season, Biyombo averaged 5.5 points per game along with eight rebounds.
The native of the Democratic Republic of the Congo was set to make $3 million US next season, but now has the opportunity to earn much more as he's expected to draw interest from several teams.
Biyombo's teammate DeMar DeRozan reportedly has until June 15 to decide whether to opt out of his contract, and is expected to do so.
DeMar DeRozan's option decision date is 6/15/16 w/Toronto Raptors @BBallInsiders
