It was a positive Saturday for the Toronto Blue Jays in the standings and on the injury front.

First baseman Adam Lind appears on track for a potential Friday return to the lineup.

"His rehab is in three phases, with increasing volume and intensity of work in each phase," Blue Jays manager John Farrell told reporters of Lind, who has been hampered by a sore lower back for a few weeks.

"He is in phase 3 today. He will be at DH [designated hitter] in an extended spring game on Monday [before starting a rehab assignment]. He's been doing his work at first base and taking live BP [batting practice] without any issues."

The plan is for Lind, barring a setback, to appear in some Florida State League games this week.

The team is hopeful he could be back in the lineup for the start of a three-game series at Baltimore June 3.

Lind is hitting .313 in 28 games, with seven homers and 27 runs batted in.
