Chipper Jones blasts Toronto, WBC

Atlanta Braves star Chipper Jones was critical of both the city of Toronto and the format of the World Baseball Classic in comments made after an injury left him unable to play for the U.S. team for the rest of the tournament.

Chipper Jones doesn't have a lot of good things to say about the World Baseball Classic, or his time in Toronto for that matter.

Jones, who played third base for the United States until a strained oblique muscle forced him out of the tournament, was with the American team for its first three games at Toronto's Rogers Centre and clearly didn't enjoy his stay.

"We stayed in Toronto for a week and played three games. I don't know if you ever stayed in Toronto, but it's not exactly Las Vegas," the Braves star told the Atlanta Journal Constitution. "To say that we were plucking our eyebrows out one at a time would be an understatement."

Jones also blasted the tournament's format, saying there are too many days off.

Jones, who also played in the inaugural Classic in 2006, said he won't play again if the format isn't changed.
