Canadian, U.S. leaders react to death of Pope Francis
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney called Francis ‘a shepherd of deep moral clarity, spiritual courage, and boundless compassion,’ while other federal leaders also paid tribute to the pope. Additionally, U.S. President Donald Trump ordered flags across the country be flown at half-staff to honour Pope Francis' memory, a day after U.S. Vice-President JD Vance had a private meeting with Francis at the Vatican.
