Is a 2nd road test necessary for safer drivers on B.C. roads?
Sean McDonald, an instructor for Atlas Driving School, says the road tests for the novice Class 7 driver's licence and a full Class 5 licence are very similar. From his own observation, he says the second test to obtain a Class 5 licence does not make a difference in the quality of drivers on the road, adding that factors such as distracted driving, crowded roads, and drivers' attitudes can lead to bad driving habits such as tailgating. He tells BC Today host Michelle Eliot that safer roads have more to do with driving culture and driving psychology than tests.
