U.S. stocks tumble after Trump's tariffs shock
Financial markets around the world are reeling in the wake of U.S. President Donald Trump's latest and most severe volley of tariffs — and the U.S. stock market may be taking the worst of it. The S&P 500 was down four per cent in early trading Thursday, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 3.5 per cent and the Nasdaq composite was off 5.10 per cent.
