‘This won’t go away,’ says activist about Liberal candidate’s China bounty controversy
Liberal Leader Mark Carney said on Monday that Paul Chiang will remain the party's candidate in the Ontario riding of Markham-Unionville. The Liberal Party is facing calls to drop Chiang for suggesting people turn in a Toronto Conservative candidate to the Chinese consulate to collect a bounty. Cheuk Kwan, co-chair of the Toronto Association for Democracy in China, tells Power & Politics that Chiang should resign and the Liberal Party ‘should think twice’ about allowing him to run.
