Indigenous rapper Drezus 'reclaims' former residential school with his music
Jeremiah Manitopyes, a rapper and activist from Muskowekwan First Nation also known as Drezus, shared his story and performed his music to young people inside the old gymnasium of the former Lebret Indian Industrial School, the last standing relic of a residential school that only closed its doors in 1998. Manitopyes attended the school in the 90s, and returned to take part in a youth summit held by Star Blanket Cree Nation.
