Son of Ocean Ranger victim attends annual Basilica service for the first time
Clayton Burry’s father was working as a welder on the Ocean Ranger when the drilling rig sank offshore in 1982. All 84 men on board were killed. Burry is now part of a volunteer group working to repatriate artifacts from the wreck home to Newfoundland and Labrador. He and others attended the 43rd annual memorial service for the disaster in St. John’s.
