Town of Souris gets some new protection for its popular beach and roadway
Some new rock structures are protecting the Souris causeway in eastern P.E.I. these days. Work started in late January to install two more sandstone reefs and a structure called a groyne to help catch silt and build up the popular beach. Engineer Brian Thompson says the work is being done mainly at night, at low tide and in the winter to avoid the busy tourism season. Nancy Russell went to Souris with the CBC drone to show us how things are looking.
