The Corner Brook Royals retired the number 15 over the weekend in honour of former player Ed Kearsey. Kearsey registered over 225 games with the Royals in his playing days and was on the team that won the first Allan Cup — awarded annually to the top senior hockey team in Canada — for Newfoundland and Labrador. The CBC’s Amy Feehan was at the ceremony.
