A group of former leaders and climate experts said the annual UN COP climate talks were no longer fit for purpose and needed to be reformed, publishing a critical open letter. The role of the United States in COP could also change, with U.S. president-elect Donald Trump's transition team preparing to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement, the New York Times reported.
