Director Steve McQueen’s Blitz tells the story of a young Black boy trying to find his mother amid the bombing of London during the Second World War. McQueen was inspired by an actual photograph showing children evacuating the city, and CBC’s senior entertainment reporter Eli Glasner says the movie’s tone is a change of pace for the director.
