These are the Indigenous artists nominated for the 2025 Juno Awards

Elisapie, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, and Celeigh Cardinal are among the nominees.

Elisapie's Inuktitut nominated for Album of the Year

These are the Indigenous artists nominated for the 2025 Juno Awards.

Elisapie

Elisapie's Inuktitut is an Inuktitut cover album which features translated versions of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Blondie, Fleetwood Mac, Metallica, Queen, and Cyndi Lauper songs. The album is nominated for Adult Alternative Album of the Year and Album of the Year.

Snotty Nose Rez Kids

Rap duo Snotty Nose Rez Kids have three nominations, for Rap Single of the Year, Rap Album of the Year and Contemporary Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year. Their album Red Future and the single BBE envisions a Indigenous future marked by resilience and the richness of Indigenous cultures. 

Celeigh Cardinal

Boundless Possibilities by Celeigh Cardinal delivers a statement of independence and her transformative process of navigating grief. Cardinal is nominated for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year and Contemporary Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year.

Deantha Edmunds 

Deantha Edmunds, an Inuk singer from St. John's, is nominated for Classical Composition of the Year for Angmalukisaa ("round" in Inuktut) that includes lyrics in Inuttitut. Her compositions are also part of the Alikeness album nominated in the Classical Album of the Year (Large Ensemble). 

Andrew Balfour 

Cree composer Andrew Balfour is nominated for Classical Album of the Year (Large Ensemble) for Ispiciwin, meaning 'journey' in Cree, that features Calgary chamber choir Luminous Voices. The album follows a musical exploration that centres truth and storytelling from an Indigenous standpoint. 

Kym Gouchie

Shun Beh Nats'ujeh: We Are Healing Through Songs is nominated for Children's Album of the Year. It ranges from playful melodies to soothing lullabies.

Julian Taylor 

Julian Taylor's album Pathways is nominated for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year.

Adrian Sutherland

Precious Diamonds by Adrian Sutherland is nominated for Contemporary Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year. The lead single Notawe (Father) is one of two Cree songs on the album, Sutherland's first time singing in the language.

Sebastian Gaskin

Born out of inspiration from his own identity and the death of George Floyd, Sebastian Gaskin released the track Brown Man just before National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in 2024. Gaskin is nominated for Contemporary Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year.

Tia Wood

Tia Wood's debut, Pretty Red Bird, weaves storytelling and her heritage into an R&B/Pop album. Wood is nominated for Contemporary Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year

Black Bear Singers

New Comings by Black Bear Singers is nominated for Traditional Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year.

Brianna Lizotte

Winston & I by Brianna Lizotte is nominated for Traditional Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year.

Cree Confederation

Travelling Home by Cree Confederation is nominated for Traditional Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year.

Young Spirit

Ostesihtowin-"Brotherhood" by Young Spirit is nominated for Traditional Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year.

Northern Cree

REZilience by Northern Cree is nominated for Traditional Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year.

The Juno Awards ceremony will be held in Vancouver on March 30.
