Rumours about the British band's imminent reunion have been floating since late last year, with fans noting that 2007 marks the 30th anniversary of the reggae-influenced pop-rock band's hit Roxanne.

The five-time Grammy winners, whose other hits include Message in a Bottle, Don't Stand So Close to Me and Every Breath You Take, will open the Grammy ceremony in Los Angeles on Feb. 11.

Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers split in 1984, and eachlater tookon solo projects.

However, the first rumours of a possible reunion began after the trio played together in 2003 to commemorate their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The buzz reached a fever pitch last weekend in Vancouver, wherethe band was rumoured to be rehearsing at the city's Lions Gate Studios.

The band has not yet confirmed any plans for a tour.
