New CBC series brings Quebec hit drama Nouvelle Addresse to a new audience
New Address is an English adaptation of the French-language family drama
CBC Television has announced its plans to bring the adaptation of a Quebec hit drama series Nouvelle Addresse to its English-language audience.
Like its French-language counterpart, the 10-part series New Address is a family saga focusing on a single mother in her 40s whose terminal cancer diagnosis sends her on a quest to prepare her teenage children for life without her. Her tight-knit family—sister, two brothers and parents—do the best they can to help her, while coping with problems and joys of their own.
"Through a mix of drama and humour, New Address explores the many ups and downs of life in a touching, relatable way, and we know it's going to resonate with Canadians across the country," said Sally Catto, general manager of programming for CBC English Television.
Montreal-based Sphère Mèdia Plus, which produces Nouvelle Addresse, will also produce New Address in co-operation with CBC.
The show is scheduled to start filming in Montreal in July 2015, and is slated to air on CBC Television in the fall of 2015.
