Carly Rae Jepsen continues 'great adventure' with Grey Cup show
Mission, B.C. singer Carly Rae Jepsen shared a stage with old friends Marianas Trench and the superstar who brought her name to world attention Justin Bieber during the Grey Cup halftime show Sunday.
Jepsen treated the crowd to a taste of her newest single This Kiss, before breaking out her hit Call Me Maybe, which brought her international fame after Bieber sent a tweet about the song to his millions of followers.
Ahead of the show, Jepson spoke to CBC’s Laura Thompson about the honour of playing at the Grey Cup and her family’s love of football.
She credited Bieber with signing her to his record label for her new album, Kiss. Jepsen is currently touring with the 18-year-old star.
"He’s been probably my biggest supporter to date. Great guy, very talented musician and a lot of fun to hang out with on tour," Jepsen told CBC News.
Jepsen said the "great adventure" began with Call Me Maybe earlier this year and discussed the challenges of dealing with life on tour.
