Firefighters on site told CBC Windsor when they arrived flames were shooting out the unit window.
The building was not evacuated — residents "sheltered in place in their units," tweeted the fire service.

Two Windsor fire investigators were at the site to determine the cause of the fire.
The fire department says the cause is undetermined but not suspicious. The damage breakdown is $80,000 to the suite where the fire started, and $220,000 to the building.
