Chatham-made chocolates in demand across the province
Windsor Morning's Jonathan Pinto learns the art of chocolate making at Chatham's Régine Fine Chocolate
A few weeks ago, I was purchasing wine at a local vineyard when I noticed a bag of salted caramels near the register. I wasn't really thinking about chocolate, but something about this bag tempted me.
It was a good decision — the caramels were delicious. Since I'd seen these chocolates in a few other stores, I figured they must have been produced by a large, high-end chocolate maker in Toronto or Montreal.
I was wrong.
Turning over the package, I was surprised to see a Chatham address on label. Since that's virtually next door, I swung by this week to find out more.

Where can I find Régine's chocolates?
A number of stores in Windsor carry products from Régine Fine Chocolate, including Fred's Farm Fresh on Huron Church Road and Remark Farms on Howard Avenue. In Essex County, you can find them at Lakeside Bakery in Leamington and Cooper's Hawk Vineyards in Harrow.
In the Greater Toronto Area and Ottawa, you can find these chocolates at the Whole Foods chain of grocery stores.
If you're looking for the largest variety of chocolate to satisfy your sweet tooth, your best bet is to visit Régine's retail store and production facility in downtown Chatham, which is located at 137 King St W.
