Three people are displaced following a fire on a balcony at a Caron Avenue high rise on Monday.

Chief fire prevention officer Mike Coste of Windsor Fire says the blaze was caused by barbecuing.

No one was hurt and the fire was quickly extinguished, he said.

Coste says there was heavy damage to the balcony and apartment, which he estimated at a few hundred thousand dollars.

He says it's important to inspect your barbecue and make sure it's turned off.
