3 dead in head-on two-vehicle Lakeshore collision

Three people have died in two-vehicle collision that happened in Lakeshore Sunday night.

Perth County OPP have been searching for a missing 10-year-old girl, who is believed to have fallen through the ice on Whirl Creek, east of Mitchell, Ont., on Sunday morning. (CBC)

A head-on two-vehicle collision has left three dead Sunday afternoon, OPP say.

The crash happened on Essex County Road 42 just east of Elmstead Road in Lakeshore at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday. 

Police say a car going eastbound had "crossed over the centre line" and collided with a car going westbound.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle was a 46-year-old man from Belle River who was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the westbound vehicle was a 53-year-old Windsor man who also died at the site. 

A 48-year-old woman from Windsor was the passenger in the westbound vehicle and she died after being transported to hospital.
