An 18-year-old Brampton woman, who was charged in connection with a car theft caught on video where a man was struck with his own vehicle earlier this month, is now facing additional charges in Toronto, police say.

Last week, Peel police released security camera video showing a woman driving over a man in his Porsche Cayenne SUV before taking off with the stolen vehicle. Investigators then announced on Friday that the woman had been arrested.

In a news release issued Tuesday, Toronto police said the woman is now facing additional charges — this time related to an incident in the Kipling Avenue and Rathburn Road area on Sept. 11.

Investigators say that around 3:30 p.m. that day, a man and a woman went to a home for a pre-arranged meeting under the guise of buying the victim's vehicle.

The victim allowed the pair to get inside to inspect the interior and test the engine — but when the suspects turned it on they immediately drove it away from the area.

Peel Regional Police has released security camera video showing a woman run over a man while allegedly stealing his Porsche SUV earlier this month in Mississauga. Police say the woman was pretending to be interested in buying the car. CBC’s Britnei Bilhete has the story.

In addition, around 5:06 p.m. on Sept. 16, the same man and woman went to a parking lot in the Dufferin Street and Yorkdale Road area, Toronto police say, for another pre-arranged meeting to buy someone's vehicle.

The woman approached the victim and asked to inspect their vehicle, but she was "acting very nervous," so the victim decided to shut things down and leave the area, according to the news release.

On Monday, officers with Toronto police's hold up squad arrested and charged the woman, who was already in custody.

She now faces additional charges of theft of a motor vehicle, attempting to commit an indictable offence and possession of property obtained by crime.

Police say they are still looking for the stolen vehicle, which is a black 2021 BMW X6, with the plate CPXC183.
