1 man dead after shooting at Carlaw Avenue and Queen Street East

One man is dead after a shooting at Carlaw Avenue and Queen Street East.

There is no information on a suspect, but a vehicle was reported fleeing the scene

One man is dead after a shooting in the Carlaw Avenue and Queen Street East area.

Police say they were called to the area just before 10 p.m. Wednesday about reports that a man had been shot. One person reported hearing eight shots, another reported hearing seven and still another heard five.

A man was transported to a trauma centre with multiple gunshot wounds and succumbed to his injuries.

There is no information on a suspect at this time. A vehicle is reported to have fled the scene. 

Carlaw Avenue remains closed in both directions from Dundas Street East to Colgate Avenue. Police are warning the public to avoid the area.
