The go-ahead goal against the New York Red Bulls at BMO Field on Oct. 14 may be the biggest in Toronto FC history.

That one goal helped launch Toronto's Major League Soccer team into the playoffs for the first time in its nine-year history.

They now face the Montreal Impact in Montreal, and the team will hope for more biggest-ever goals.

Two players to watch:

  • Sebastian Giovinco was a star in Italy and this is only his first year in North America. He led the league in scoring this year. He's nicknamed the Atomic Ant for his small stature and speed.
  • Didier Drogba is from Cote d'Ivoire and was a huge star for Chelsea in England. He came to Montreal for second half of the season and has been on a scoring binge.

Drogba scored both goals against Toronto in their win right before the playoffs started. That last game lifted Montreal (15-13-6) into third place in the Eastern Conference while Toronto (15-15-4) dropped to sixth. It also earned Montreal home-field advantage to open the playoffs.

If Toronto wins TFC will play the New York Bulls next in the two-game Eastern Conference semi-final. Should Montreal advance, it will face the Columbus Crew.
