Residents of Toronto and much of the surrounding region, meanwhile, were told to watch out for severe and potentially dangerous thunderstorms.
Environment Canada warned the thunderstorms rolling east across the GTA could cause "intense lightning" and potentially drop hail and torrential rain in some spots.
The storm at one point knocked out power in some areas of Toronto, including to some 2,300 customers in the Yonge Street and Finch Avenue area according to Toronto Hydro.
The storms are also bringing strong wind, with gusts between 50-70 km/h.
