New Year's Day: What's open, what's closed in Toronto
Good morning and happy New Year Toronto.
Many will spend today sleeping off the effects of last night's celebrations. But if you are planning to head outside on the first day of 2016, here's a list of what's open and closed.
The TTC

What's open?
Most attractions are open today including the CN Tower, the Toronto Zoo, Ripley's Aquarium, the Ontario Science Centre, the Royal Ontario Museum and the Art Gallery of Ontario.
A number of shopping malls will be open today, including Toronto Eaton Centre, Vaughan Mills, Hillcrest Mall, Square One and Promenade Shopping Centre.
What's closed?
Most government offices, banks, the post office, LCBO locations and Toronto public libraries are closed. City hall offices are closed today (details about closures to other city services are here).
Some malls are closed, including Yorkdale Mall and Sherway Gardens.
What's happening?
The Toronto Raptors open 2016 with a home game against the Charlotte Hornets tonight at the Air Canada Centre.
The Leafs host the St. Louis Blues tomorrow at the Air Canada Centre. The Marlies have an afternoon home game tomorrow at Ricoh Coliseum against the Syracuse Crunch.
Some sports fans will stay inside today to watch the NHL Winter Classic between the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins. The puck drops at 1 p.m., we have a primer on what to look for in the outdoor game here.
