House of Lancaster 'will be closing in the coming months,' Justin Di Ciano says
Man suffered multiple gunshot wounds at the strip club in 2014

The notorious Etobicoke strip-club House of Lancaster has been sold, according to the local city councillor, almost three years after it made headlines as the scene of a brazen shooting.
An incident the day before New Year's Eve in 2014, in which a man suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was the catalyst for a neighbourhood debate around the House of Lancaster's location.
"The establishment will be closing in the coming months," Coun. Justin Di Ciano said in his newsletter, which was released Monday afternoon. Di Ciano, who represents Ward 5, Etobicoke-Lakeshore, told CBC Toronto he does not know who the buyer is.
The club, which is located on The Queensway just two blocks east of Royal York Road, sits right next to quiet residential streets with single family homes and many residents wanted the club gone.
"I'm pretty excited. It's the end of an era for a community. Most people were hoping this was going to happen sooner rather than later," Di Ciano said in an interview Monday evening..
"So I think it's good news as part of the transformation of the Queensway."
The new owners have not yet submitted a formal application outlining their plans for the location. But Di Ciano says it's zoned as a mixture of residential and retail.
"It's been something that the community has wanted for a very long time," he said.
