Toronto police have identified the victim of a homicide this weekend as 27-year-old Darapheakdey "Daral" Sovann.

In a release, police say Sovann was discovered just after midnight near the intersection of Bloor Street W. and Madison Avenue with "severe injuries."

He was taken to hospital, where he later died.

Police say Sovann's death is the city's first homicide of 2025. They're now looking for three people who they believe were involved in the incident.

Police have not released any descriptions of the suspects.

"I want them to know if they're watching, somebody died, and whatever happened between this party and our victim resulted in his death," said Det. Sgt. Phil Campbell told reporters Sunday.

"That's somebody's kid. So do the right thing, get a hold of a lawyer and get a hold of us."

Officers are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information to come forward
