Two men were taken to hospital after a shooting near Eglinton Avenue West and Keele Street on Saturday, barely 20 minutes before another pair of men walked into a nearby hospital with bullet wounds to the back and buttocks.

Toronto police confirmed Sunday afternoon that all four victims were shot at 2480 Eglinton Ave. W. Saturday night. It's unclear why two men left separately.

Police were initially called to the apartment building on Eglinton Avenue around 8 p.m. when someone reported hearing gunshots near the Keele Street intersection.

When they arrived, officers found one victim at that address who was conscious and breathing, Mills said. The second victim was found on nearby Venn Crescent.

Both men had been shot in their legs but their injuries were not considered life-threatening. They were taken to hospital

A pregnant woman who was at the scene was also taken to hospital as a precaution.

A baby shower was underway in the building's community room at the time of the shooting. Police say they don't know if those two events are connected.

Shot in the back, buttocks

Police began searching for two men who they described as black males wearing dark clothing. The pair was last seen running away from the scene of the shooting.

But at 8:25 p.m. officers were called to nearby Humber River Hospital where two men had walked in, one shot in the back, the other in the buttocks.

Mills said investigators are still gathering information to see if there are any connections between the victims.

The hospital would be about a 10-minute drive from where police say the Eglinton Avenue West shooting took place.

Neither victim suffered life-threatening injuries, according to police. (Pascal Marchand/CBC)
