Woman dies after falling down elevator shaft

A woman is dead after falling down an elevator shaft at the Royal Edward Arms on south May Street, Thunder Bay police report.

The incident happened at around 4 a.m. Friday.

Police said they do not suspect foul play.

The woman's identity has not been confirmed, but a police  spokesperson said she is in her late-20s or early-30s.

The coroner's office and the Technical Standards and Safety Authority are investigating.
