Old monitors, TVs, computers and cameras can find their way from your basement to a recycling bin this weekend.
OLG Casino Thunder Bay and EcoSuperior will hold their free e-waste recycling event on Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the OLG Cumberland Street parking lot.
The program acts as a fundraiser for EcoSuperior, which is paid by the Ontario Electronic Stewardship program per metric tonne of e-waste that is collected. Last year, 4.41 metric tonnes of e-waste was taken in.
The following items are accepted at the event:
- Printing, copying and multifunction devices
- Home theatre in a box (equalizers, amplifiers, speakers, tuners and turntables)
- Computers and computer peripherals
- Telephones and answering machines
- Monitors and televisions
- Aftermarket vehicle audio and video devices
- Image, audio and video devices
- Cameras and projectors
- Cellular devices and pagers
- Tires (cars and light trucks) with or without rims
