St. Ignatius High School in Thunder Bay is reopening this morning after a threat was made against the school yesterday.

In a statement issued late last night, the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board said Thunder Bay Police continued their investigation regarding the threat.

It was then determined the school was safe and ready to be reopened Wednesday. As a result, all classes and school activities will resume.

All after-school activities and community use of the school were cancelled Tuesday evening.

The board has not disclosed the nature of the threat.

St. Patrick High School was also closed Tuesday while police and school officials investigated a threat made Monday. On Tuesday, officials said they'd done a walk-through and could find no evidence of any potential harm to students.

Earlier this month, French Catholic schools across northwestern, northern and eastern Ontario were closed for a day due to bomb threats and extortion demands made against them. After investigating, Ontario Provincial Police said that incident was a hoax.
