"Our staff member for that building was assaulted and robbed outside the building and their keys stolen and personal items as well, unfortunately,” said Bill Bradica, acting chief administrative officer at the Social Services Board.

Bradica said the building keys were recovered soon after the incident, but the master key has been changed as a precautionary measure.

He said police are doing additional patrols at McIvor Court, as well as some other social housing buildings in the city.

"They're going to provide us with some assistance ... around and in certain buildings, including McIvor Court,” he said.

Bradica said the social services board has also voted to continue heightened security measures — including patrols — that were tested earlier this year.
